Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is a 2004 American pulp adventure science fiction film written and directed by Kerry Conran in his directorial debut.

The film is set in an alternative 1939 and follows the adventures of Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow), a newspaper reporter for The Chronicle, and Harry Joseph “Joe” Sullivan (Jude Law), known as “Sky Captain”, as they track down the mysterious “Dr. Totenkopf”.

Punisher: War Zone is a 2008 American comic book action film directed by Lexi Alexander; based on the fictional Marvel Comics vigilante/anti-hero the Punisher.

The film is a reboot which follows the original telling of Frank Castle’s war on crime and corruption rather than a sequel to 2004′s The Punisher,[4] and is the first film to be produced under the Marvel Studios and Marvel Knights production banner, which focuses on films for mature audiences.

Irish actor Ray Stevenson replaces Thomas Jane as Frank Castle. In the film, Castle wages a one-man war against a horribly disfigured mob boss known as Jigsaw (Dominic West).

It is the first film to star together two of the best-known names in the martial arts film genre, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. The action sequences were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping.

The character Buck Howard is inspired by the mentalist The Amazing Kreskin, whose popularity was at its height in the 1970s.

The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2008.

It starred Jonah Bobo as Danny and Josh Hutcherson as Walter. Tim Robbins also had a small role as the divorced father of Walter and Danny. In the film two boys discover a space–themed board game from the basement, where everything inside it becomes real when they play.

The film was released on November 11, 2005 by Columbia Pictures. It was shot in Los Angeles and Culver City, California.

Matthew O’Callaghan directed (after replacing Jun Falkenstein). This project had been in development hell at Imagine Entertainment for a long time, dating back at least as long ago as 1992 (and possibly many years before this).

The screenplay was written by Michael McCullers, Daniel Gerson, Rob Baird, Joe Stillman and Karey Kirkpatrick. Although it is a traditionally-animated film, about twenty percent of it takes place in 3D environments that were computer-generated. This was Universal’s first theatrically-released feature-length animated film since 1995′s Balto. It was Imagine Entertainment’s first animated film.

Imaginary Forces collaborated with the film’s director Marc Webb on the opening titles for the film as well as designing and animating the cards that appear throughout the film counting down the 500 Days of Summer.

Bond seeks revenge for the death of his lover, Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), and is assisted by Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko), who is also seeking revenge.

The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of the monarchy in Afghanistan through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the Taliban regime.

It is loosely based on the real-life events of Joseph D. Pistone, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent who successfully infiltrated the Bonanno crime family, one of the Mafia’s Five Families based in New York City during the 1970s, under the alias “Donnie Brasco”. Depp met with Pistone several times while preparing for his role.

The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Paul Schrader’s film, Autofocus, is the story of Bob Crane (played by Greg Kinnear), who had the title character in the hit TV series, “Hogan’s Heroes” in the late 1960′s. The interesting thing about the real-life story of Bob Crane is the fact that he was brutally murdered in 1978 by a killer who was never convicted, even though everyone knew who it was. The movie examines how fame and fortune in Hollywood can turn someone’s life upside down – in this case, by over-feeding a man’s sex-obsession to the point of self-destruction.
